Knowing that I have not posted for a long time, I finaly found some time off my hectic schedule to post my blog. I guess I shall be posting on the US trip since the rest of my life is so boring...(*Nick's life story* as on the advertisement)...but be warned, this is really going to be a boring post so please be careful and not knock your head on the keyboard while dozing off.

Posting every single detail we surely bore you to death so I decided to skip all the uninteresting parts and give just a "short" summary on what happened there.

Some stuff about America and our visit there (all details at time of our visit):
1) Cities went- Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Fransico
2) Temperature and climate- Season: Summer
- Temperature: Lowest 14 degrees (In Los Angeles) to highest 40 degrees ( In Las Vegas... oh this is no joke ...its real hot!)
3) Food- They have many varieties there including chinese food. However, the food there is generally more expensive (6 to 10 dollars) than Singapore. However, their food portion is much larger...no wonder their size (whoops sorry), but most places allow take away if you cannot finish your food so food will not be wasted. They do not have chilli suace (they do not take chili:( ) as well unless you visit chinese restaurants.
4) You can skip this point because it will be boring. Sports. Most Americans prefer sports like baseball and basketball, so for people like me who love soccer, we find it hard to adapt as there is hardly a channel that shows soocer, newspapers also only show US soccer (which I am not interested in) and most game shops do not sell games like Fifa 07 (a soccer game for those who do not know).
5) The people of USA- The people there are really friendly, kind and helpful or at least much better than Singaporeans. When i first came back I felt Singaporeans were not polite, not hepful at all. Eg. A lady with a pram wanted to go up the stairs. As she moved up slowly, and with a little difficulty, a gentleman suddenly stepped forward from far and helped her carry the pram up. (Oh please do not ask me where i was) There were many such cases where people were kind and helpful and although we were supposed to do that as learnt from the textbook, we hardly see this happening.

By now, many of you here would be close to dozing off or already half-asleep so I think a joke might get you back on track. However, if you are expecting a funny one, you would be really disappointed...

(At a chinese restaurant)
Dad: Could we order tofu?
Waitress: Do you want it fried or steamed? (not really good english and my parents could not understand it)
Dad: Er..we don't get it...can you repeat it again?
Waitress repeats question but my dad still didn't get it.
Waitress: ok...do you want your tofu brown or white? (lol)
Mum: Oh...u mean rice?
...
That's all. Please laugh. Thank you.

Oh now you should have been bored by what I have said so far so I shall change the topic a little and talk about some places (only main ones not shops) I visited (not in order).

!) Grand Canyon (wow great scenery)
2) Hoover Dam (its real large)
3) Yosemite National Park (Some trees are real huge, takes a few people[hugging the tree] to go around it)
4) Fisherman's wharf (sounds familiar?)
5) Universal Studios (theme park but tells us how movies were filmed...in fact some movies were being film but it was out of bounds)
6) Winchester Mystery house (Ms. Winchester went was upset when her whole family died. She thought that the spirit of those who were killed (the Winchester family made guns) by the Winchester's guns were haunting her. She hired some workers to built her house 24/7 (none stop) so that the spirits would not be able to find her. This mansion had doors which led to a wall, or doors which opened to a two foot drop and pillars that were upside-down. ( Many said she didn't know how to build a house or she was trying to confuse spirits). This is a crazy house but its real fun!)
7) San Diego Seaworld (the killer whales are large!)
8) San Diego Wild Animal Park (a safari)
9) Pacific Ocean

I shall finish up with a quote from my Dad. "Learn to plan for your own holiday trips. (I am only 16) You want to be a leader (leading ppl in holidays trips??), not a follower. If you have a clown as a leader, you would only be fooled around. (lol?)"
*bracket denotes my own comments

That's about everything I could remember...anyway most would be bored of it...so for those who are not yet asleep, u SURVIVED. PLease leave your comments. Thank you for your attention. Be posting again soon!
